Taylor Davis Street Team

Hello! Thanks for your interest in joining my team!

This is an opportunity for kids ages 9-12 (that’s a rough interest guideline, anyone’s welcome) to partner with me in writing the third volume of my Taylor Davis series. I’m an elementary teacher, and the first two volumes were written with the input of students. This time I’d like to invite wider participation.

What would being a team member entail?

Both books in the Taylor Davis series were written as serial novels, each one composed of six 10,000-word (50ish pages) individual episodes. In the past, I finished an episode and delivered it to my team of kids every other Friday for twelve weeks. They had the next two weeks to read it, note typos, suggest changes, and send me any general feedback or ideas. I used their comments during final rewrites. Once the book published a few weeks later (after my editor finished with it), I made a private free version available to participants. It was a unique opportunity for students to learn about and participate in the writing, revising, and publishing process.

To make this safe and workable on a wider basis, all exchanges would take place electronically and privately. I’ll use this mailing list to send out each completed episode in a variety of downloadable formats, and kids can reply to me directly with their responses. No one needs to interact with anyone else; however, the comments section on this page will remain open throughout.

When would this take place?

If the class generates interest, it will take place over the summer (June-August 2019). I’ll be in touch in the spring.

One more thought. It isn’t necessary to read books 1 and 2 to participate, but I’m making the first one free everywhere, and the second is only 3.99.

If this sounds like something you’d like your kids to be a part of, sign up below. And feel free to share this page if you know others who might like to join. It’s particularly ideal for homeschool families. Email me with any questions [misenhoff (at) hotmail (dot) com].

Thanks! I hope you’ll join me!
