I’m back for the summer

It’s been a long time since I reviewed a book! Seven years, in fact. I miss being part of the online community of readers and writers, so I’m going to jump back in for the summer at least. Next fall, we’ll go from there.

If you remember me from that far back, I’ll give you a quick update. In 2017, I paused all blogging to write my Recompense series. That was a huge year. From September 2017 to October 2018, I wrote 550K words, completing 5 full novels and one novella in that series. My best writing yet, imo. I was pretty burned out afterward. Then as some of you know, my son got sick in 2019, which took all my energy for two full years. Meanwhile, Covid hit, and my husband has been working from home ever since, and I can’t write when he’s home. I just can’t. I so seldom have any total, by-myself, don’t-ask-me-what’s-for-dinner-or-where-you-left-your-phone-or-what-happened-to-that-insurance-quote, focused writing time. Even so, I did manage to complete and publish my last Taylor Davis book in 2021. And last year, I completed the first book in a planned 6-book series but haven’t published it yet or started the next one. I’ve been doing more editing for others than writing for myself since Covid.

But this summer, I’m going to try to hit Marvelous Middle Grade Monday more often than not. I don’t know if I’ll make it every week, but I do have a few reviews I stockpiled, so I’m off to send Greg the first one…
